Kerrang! Awards 2012

Image sourced from Kerrang! Radio's Facebook Last night, musicians and rock fans from all over the world came together at The Brewery in London for the annual Kerrang! Awards…and I was lucky enough to go along to both the ceremony and the after party (score!).

Corey Taylor (Slipknot) and Scott Ian (Anthrax) took to the stage as co-hosts for the fourth year in a row and, with the help of ‘Fake Queen’ in honour of HM’s Jubilee, the likes of Tenacious D and Slash stepped up to receive their awards.

The recently reformed Black Sabbath received the Kerrang! Inspiration Award whilst Ozzy’s wife Sharon presented the Service To Metal award to Download Festival where Sabbath are headlining this year.

Slash was recognised as a true rock icon (duh!) with Kerrang! Icon awards and Tenacious D won the Service To Rock awards, with Jack Black and Kyle Gass accepting the award with promises of serving everyone upon request after a montage of their music videos.

While She Sleeps took home Best British Newcomers and You Me At Six won Best British Band (second year running) whilst Enter Shikari received Best Live Band.

We also saw some fantastic voted for categories such a Villian Of The Year won by pop sensation Justin Bieber and Tweeter Of The Year which went to Paramore’s Hayley Willaims (unsurprisingly).

Check out the full winners list below…
