Join me and Roxy on our adventure far out east in Thailand with Experience Travel.
Arriving early evening on Valentine’s Day, our holiday will begin at the SALA Phuket Resort & Spa. We’ll have just enough time for a dip in our private pool, dinner and a tiki cocktail before we crash out for a much needed night’s sleep. But there’s no rest for the wicked, we’ll be up bright and early the next day, ready to explore Phang Nga Bay by junk boat and we’ll be spending the morning of our third day cycling around Phuket’s Old Town. By the time we’ve arrived in Koh Yao Noi on the afternoon of day three, I think it’s safe to say that the jet lag will have caught up with us and we’ll be begging for some rest and relaxation on the beach. Good thing we’ll have the opportunity to do just that for the next few days of our holiday.
Come day seven, however, we’ll be rested, sun-kissed and raring to go for our Community Connection visit. This tour, once again provided by the lovely folks at Exotissimo Travel, will allow us to spend the day visiting with the locals, learning all about their traditional lifestyles and traditions. We’ll have the opportunity to partake in activities set up by the community, from coconut-shell souvenir making to batik painting, and we’ll visit local coconut farms, fishing piers and rubber tree plantations. We’ll also get to eat lunch with a local family.
